UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League Semi-Final First Leg Preview

As the stakes rise higher and more intense, prepare for the most thrilling week of European footballthe semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Here’s a sneak peek into the first-leg fixtures, where football elites carve their names into the history books and teams move inches closer to the coveted silverware.

Champions League Fixtures & Facts:

Tuesday, 30th April: Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

After edging past Arsenal with a 3-2 aggregate win, courtesy of Joshua Kimmich, Bayern Munich is set to face the unstoppable Real Madrid, who swooned through by knocking out last year’s champions, Manchester City, in a gripping penalty shootout. The semi-finals are similar territory for both teams, with Real Madrid making their 17th appearance in the Champions League era (33 overall), whilst Bayern have reached their 13th (21 overall).

Bayern last tasted success in 2020, and after the sad end of their domestic winning streak by Bayer Leverkusen, they are hungry for continental silver. Contrarily, Madrid boasts their cabinet of 14 Champions League titles and a near-certain 36th La Liga win!

Keep an eye out for Bayern’s goal machine, Harry Kane, who has consistently hit the back of the net – he has seven goals in the competition! Given the recent performances, Real Madrid has emerged as the crowd favourite among the teams. Wednesday, 1st May: Dortmund vs PSG

Coming to Dortmund, the local team performed a comeback, paving its path to the semi-finals. Overturning a deficit, they beat Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate. Going head-to-head is PSG, who staged their impressive comeback against Barcelona, winning 6-4 on aggregate.

PSG’s Kylian Mbappe is scoring for fun in this year’s edition – a whopping 8 goals, which has got Dortmund in quite a hotspot. The stakes are even higher, with a shared history of having faced off in the group stages this season.

Nevertheless, Dortmund looks like it will be banking on its impressive semi-final record, while PSG hopes to break the jinx and set its eyes on a first Champions League Title.

For those looking to bet, watch out for the 1×2 match result market and first/anytime goalscorer bets, particularly on Mbappe!

Europa League Fixtures & Facts:

Thursday, 2nd May: Marseille vs Atalanta and Roma vs Bayer Leverkusen

Down in the Europa League, we have Marseille, who survived the nerve-racking quarter-final against Benfica with a penalty shootout win! They are set to face Atalanta, who dispatched Liverpool with an aggregate score of 3-1, like a hot knife through butter.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads Marseille in scoring, having netted 10 goals in 11 matches in this year’s competition. Who knows? His eye for the goal might be the key to unshackling Atalanta’s defence and guiding the French to the finals.

Coming to Roma, this team has more recent final experience than a Hollywood star on the red carpet and is looking to reach their third European final in as many years. After defeating AC Milan with a 3-1 aggregate victory, they are up against Leverkusen, who has a track record of winning this season, which they look to extend beyond the impressive quarter-final win against West Ham.

Leverkusen enters the tie with an undefeated seasonal streak in all competitions having just won the Bundesliga title. Romelu Lukaku, with 7 goals to his name, will be a crucial player in breaking through Leverkusen’s defense and securing a spot in the final.

As the semi-final fixtures approach, look out for outright winner bets and predictions on goalscorers like Aubameyang and Lukaku to engage in action off the pitch.

Europa League Fixtures & Facts:

Thursday, 2nd May: Aston Villa vs Olympiakos and Fiorentina vs Club Brugge

Aston Villa is in the Europa Conference league under the guidance of Unai Emery, a manager who has had luck in European Competitions (three Europa League titles with Sevilla and one with Villarreal)! Their journey to the semi-finals was clenched by a 4-3 penalty shootout win, with Emiliano Martinez’s antics triumphing in the nerve-wracking aggregate deadlock. They aim to be the second consecutive English team to lift the trophy and are currently the favorites to win the competition.

Up against them are the Olympiakos, who highlighted their own shootout savvy by knocking out Fenerbahce in a similarly tense quarter-final encounter. They hope their penalty win is a good omen as they prepare to face Villa.

Next up is Fiorentina, who are still reeling from last year’s final loss against West Ham. They showed determination as they required extra time to oust Viktoria Plzen with a 2-0 aggregate score. The Italians are hungry to go one step further and claim the trophy that narrowly slipped out of their hands.

Club Brugge is the hurdle they need to overcome to do so. The team displayed consistency and control, securing a 3-0 aggregate win over PAOK in their quarter final. Their comprehensive performance across both legs has set them up as an unformidable opponent in the semi-finals.

With the semi-final fixtures all set, the betting markets are heating up. With Villa leading the charge, outright winner bets will be a hot topic.

Why just sit on the sidelines when you can be part of the action? Bet Now, laugh at the misses, cheer for the goals and prepare for an unforgettable ride through Europe’s finest football.
