Miami Grand Prix Preview

Listen up, race fans. F1 is back with a bang into Miami for round 6! Get ready for the sun, fun, and flat-out action at the Miami International Autodrome. The Miami GP is only in its third year but is already a fan favourite. Will Max Verstappen continue to dominate the tracks, or will Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz take the lead? Before we get there, let’s revisit the history of the track itself.

The Miami International Autodrome

The Miami International Autodrome made its debut in 2022. It is a street circuit built in the Hard Rock Stadium Complex, home to the Miami Dolphins NFL franchise! The track winds around the stadium, combining slow, long straights and technical sections and top speeds in excess of 340km/h. Despite just being in its third year, the welcome has been massive and is marked as an unmissable race.

The weather, atmosphere, glitz, and glamour that Miami offers, combined with the drivers battling wheel-to-wheel – the 2024 race will surely live up to the hype!

The Track Layout

The Miami International Autodrome is a high-octane racing circuit that will get the adrenaline pumping. The 5.41km track, with its 19 challenging corners, is designed to test drivers’ skill and precision while providing an exhilarating experience for fans. With three straights and three DRS zones, drivers can push their cars to the limit, potentially reaching top speeds exceeding 340km/h.

The elevation changes add an extra layer of complexity and excitement, particularly between Turns 13 and 16. The track’s design, which incorporates the natural landscape, including an exit ramp and flyovers, requires strategic handling and offers a visually striking spectacle. The Turn 14-15 chicane is especially intriguing, featuring an uphill approach and a crest in the middle that leads to a downhill exit, challenging drivers to maintain control and speed through the dynamic elevation changes.

It’s a track that promises to deliver a blend of speed, skill, and performance, making it a must-see for F1 fans.
