Spain 4-1 Georgia (Cologne)

Spain demonstrated their attacking skills, winning seven of their last eight meetings against Georgia. Nico Williams became the second-youngest Spaniard to score in a EURO knockout match. 

Key Stats: Spain has lost only two of its last 26 EURO matches, excluding penalty shootouts (W17 D7). This victory extended its unbeaten streak in the tournament to ten matches (W6 D4). Georgia has scored in 12 of its last 13 international fixtures.

France 1-0 Belgium (Düsseldorf)

France has reached at least the quarterfinals in six of the last seven major tournaments, and with a narrow win, they maintained their strong record against Belgium. 

Key Stats: N’Golo Kanté set a record for the most EURO matches without a loss (W7 D5). Belgium has won just two of their last 14 meetings against France and has not played extra time in any EURO match.

Portugal 0-0 Slovenia (aet, 3-0 on penalties) (Frankfurt)

Portugal’s Diogo Costa made history by becoming the first goalkeeper to save three penalties in a UEFA European Championship shoot-out and the first not to concede in a shoot-out. 

Key Stats: Cristiano Ronaldo, at 39 years and 147 days, became the oldest player to score a penalty in a EURO shoot-out and set a record with his 12th knockout round appearance. Portugal reached the quarterfinals for a record seventh time, while Slovenia experienced their first competitive penalty shoot-out, having drawn their last five EURO matches and remaining unbeaten in their last ten internationals.

Romania 0-3 Netherlands (Munich)

The Netherlands secured their first EURO knockout win since 2004, with goals from Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong, and Steven Bergwijn. 

Key Stats: Cody Gakpo’s goal was the Netherlands’ only first-half goal in their last six EURO knockout matches. Donyell Malen became the first Dutch substitute to score in a EURO knockout match. Xavi Simons, at 21 years and 72 days, became the youngest starter to aid in a EURO knockout game for the Netherlands. Romania’s only win against the Netherlands remains their 1-0 victory in 2007.

Austria 1-2 Türkiye (Leipzig)

Türkiye’s thrilling win over Austria featured Merih Demiral’s goal, which was the second-fastest in the EURO final tournament history. Michael Gregoritsch’s goal for Austria marked the 100th goal of EURO 2024. 

Key Stats: Austria has not won a knockout match at a major tournament since the 1954 FIFA World Cup. Türkiye’s seven goals at EURO 2024 have come from six different scorers, highlighting their offensive diversity. Notably, Türkiye became only the second team in EURO history to start a knockout match with two teenagers, Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız, both aged 19.
